Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARMON RAY ROSING
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Harmon Ray Rosing, who left us suddenly in his sleep on November 7, 2024, at his home in Lake Francis.
Harmon was a loving husband to Colleen (Guenther) Rosing and a devoted father to his children, Hendrik (8) and Heidi (7). He is also mourned by his parents, Henry and Bea, sister Kim (Richard Fischer), twin brother Justin (Fiona Mulhern), in-laws, Pete, Claire (Paul), and Shaunda (Chris). His nieces and nephews, Sadie, Theodore, Beatrix, Katherine and Conor will miss their uncle who could always be counted on to coax out a laugh.
Harmon's absence will be profoundly felt by the many who knew him. He was not only a cherished husband, father and family member, but also a kind and reliable friend. He remained close with an incredible network of childhood friends. He also had a strong connection to extended family in the Netherlands and the "five families" in Lake Francis.
Born in Edmonton, Harmon and his twin brother Justin spent their first years creating mischief and adorable photos at 7D Ranch in Innisfree, Alberta. The family moved to E.U.R. Ranches in Lake Francis, Manitoba in 1992. Harmon went through schooling in Woodlands Elementary followed by Warren High School where he excelled in team sports and developed lifelong relationships. He spent time working in Australia and Alberta, then completed his Diploma of Agriculture at U of M before returning home and starting his career on the ranch in Lake Francis. He married the love of his life, Colleen, from Warren, on February 6, 2016. They later welcomed two wonderful children, Hendrik and Heidi. Harmon took such pride in being an active and loving parent. Whether it was making up songs in the living room with Heidi, riding in the tractor with Hank or playing board games, Harmon was always present for his children. In March 2023, Harmon took over as manager of E.U.R from his father Henry, fulfilling his dream of managing and raising another generation on the ranch.
Harmon lived life fully and was deeply loyal. He could always be counted on to lend a hand, when in cell range. At Heidi's birth, he spent the night at Colleen's bedside, supporting her with a hand to crush before spending 12 hours fighting a fire in the community. His rugged exterior belied a deep thinker, full of curiosity and provoking questions. He displayed a deep sense of integrity. An avid hunter and fisherman, Harmon found great happiness in the outdoors and took immense pride in instilling a love for nature in his children. He spent many hours in the bush, and found joy in adventures like family excursions to the pits and annual Rosing cabin trips. He had a keen understanding and deep respect for the animals he cared for and the land he was steward of. Whether out in the field or by the water, he embraced the beauty of nature, creating lasting memories with family and friends. Harmon was very much where he was meant to be and doing what he was meant to do.
Thank you to the first responders and the community's outpouring of support that has helped to lessen the burden of shock and grief.
The family would appreciate a shared remembrance in writing, online or on paper to preserve memories for Henk, Heidi and Colleen.
Memorial service to be held at McKenzie Funeral Home on Friday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. Light refreshment and fellowship to follow at Stonewall Legion. Service will be available for streaming or retrospective viewing at mackenziefh.com

What are we to do with this tragic loss of our Harmon. As the shock wears away we remember the man who gave much kindness, caring, respect, compassion, generousness, honesty, tolerance, strength, intelligence, encouragement, and above all, love. His love for Colleen, Hank and Heidi, his parents, siblings, many friends, his extended married-into families, was always in the conversation. We will remember him for his deep love of nature, his thirst for learning and sharing. He talked a lot about the farm he grew up on and of one day operating it when his father retired, learning new ways to improve operations through environmental and ecosystem approaches, while parenting Hank and Heidi, with the love of his life Colleen, and passing on the same values and love of doing the little things that are so important in life. Harmon we will miss you beyond measure, and we will keep you with us in our hearts. Dearest Colleen, Sincere condolences my friend, as I am so very sorry for yours and your family's loss of a husband, father, son, sibling and best friend. There are no words to express, which could come close to bringing any comfort to you for your immeasurable loss. I think of you and the kids daily, knowing you will be their strength and guiding light to help them through life and keep Harmon's memory and love for them alive. Cherish the moments you four shared as a family; the laughter, the love, the outdoors and adventures. The love you and Harmon shared will always be a part of you. Remember to take care of yourself too my friend, as this is a difficult journey you are now on. XOXO - Posted by: Charlene Kaartinen (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2024

It with much sadness we learned of Harmon’s passing. Harmon worked with us on his artificial insemination programs. Harmon was a smart, dedicated, very thorough young man who researched many projects. We had the honor of spending some time with Harmon to share his ideas. He was a valuable part of EUR Ranch. Our thoughts and prayers to his family and especially his father Henry, wife and his children. It is a real loss to the beef industry to loose young enthusiastic producers.
