THOMAS HOFER

MARCH 18, 1939 – NOVEMBER 14, 2024

After 85 years, Dad peacefully went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB., with family at his side.

Thomas Hofer was born to Samuel and Rebecca Hofer, on March 18, 1939, in Portage la Prairie, MB. He grew up in Elm River Colony and in 1964 moved to Rainbow Colony, near Landmark, Manitoba. Here Dad enjoyed his years working in the blacksmith shop, driving combine and managing the layer barns for 25 years. In his retirement days, Dad was happy to spend time visiting with family and friends, going for drives with his children, and taking golf cart rides around the farm with his wife.

Thomas built a wonderful family with his sweetheart Becky. They were married on November 5, 1972, and were able to share their 52nd wedding anniversary together, just a few days ago. They were blessed with five children, and 17 grandchildren. Each one was so special to him!

I think this is what we will all remember about Dad the most; he loved people! He so enjoyed a good conversation and rarely missed an opportunity to make someone smile. His candid personality, kind heart and jovial spirit will not be forgotten.

Dad, we miss you very much, but we know you are rejoicing in the presence of your Saviour. Till we meet again!

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., with sharing of memories beginning at 7:30 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with reception to follow.

The interment will take place at Rainbow Colony Cemetery, Ile Des Chenes, MB.
