RAKESH KUMAR

December 26, 1955 - November 22, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Rakesh Kumar, who passed too soon at the age of 68. He was surrounded by his family in his last moments.

He will be missed by his wife Brenda, his daughters Gale (Cam) and Nealam (Lawrence) and his grandchildren Nora, Lennon and Millie.

Rakesh was born in Rajpura, India. He moved to Canada in 1975 with only a few belongings in a tiny suitcase. He sought out work right away and it was there where he met his best friend, Brenda. They married on June 30, 1984, and have been inseparable ever since. They later welcomed 2 daughters, Gurpreet (Gale) and Nealam.

Rakesh was a simple man who enjoyed simple things, like a cup of chai or listening to old Bollywood songs. He was a friend to all and could stir up a conversation with anyone. The highlights of his life were his 3 granddaughters, Nora, Lennon and Millie. He loved them dearly and bragged about them at every opportunity he had and to anyone who would listen.

Rakesh will be remembered for his humour and easy-going nature which he maintained even in his last few hours. He will be dearly missed.

We would like to thank the staff from the palliative care program for all of their kindness and support over the last few months.



Cremation has taken place. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service.



In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
