BRIAN D’ESPINS
On November 28, 2024, Brian D'Espins lost his battle with cancer.
Brian is deeply missed by his wife Ethel of 55 years, and children, Dan (Christina), Dawn, Derek (Cyndy), and beloved grandchildren, Alison (Adan), Brendan, Maddy, and Peter.
Brian was born on March 13, 1945, raised in Elie, MB and later moved to Winnipeg where he married and raised his children. He worked at various jobs across Canada before finding employment at Pauwels (Federal Pioneer), until his retirement in 2007.
Brian loved the many get togethers with family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed travelling to Las Vegas and many bus trips, with Cuba being his favourite destination. He cherished his summers at their cottage with family and friends. Fondly remembered for his love of board and card games, especially cribbage and being the reigning champion of Trivial Pursuit. Brian enjoyed spending time at his favourite pub, the Pembina Hotel, where he met his wife.
Brian will be missed by sisters-in-law, Willma (Cleo), Elsie, niece Sheryl, friend Marj, and is survived by brother-in-law Bill as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thanks to friend Tanna for her help and support, as well as the home care palliative nurses for their care, and the staff at Riverview.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare or the Humane Society.
