Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND ERNEST JOSEPH SCHAU
On November 24, 2024, Raymond Schau was called home to his eternal resting place and reunited with many loved ones gone before.
Ray is survived by his son Rick; daughter Lisa; and his grandchildren, Rachelle, Darrick, Danielle, Samantha, Stephanie, Sylina, Terry, Andrew, Jessica and Claire. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Wilma; sons, Ron and Glen; and his granddaughter Alexandra.
Dad recently celebrated his 86th birthday on November 6th.
Ray had a love for horses. As an owner and trainer for a handful of race horses, Speedy Wheeler and Wheelers’ Duster were his prized favourites. His memories of ASD were some of the best days of his life.
Dad did what he loved most, driving his truck. He started his career with Northern Messenger and worked hard, long days for his entire work history without taking any holiday time off.
Dad cherished his childhood memories in Marchand. He loved playing cards, watching The Gaither’s & Time to sing.
Thank you to all those who’ve been a part of my dad’s life. A special thank you to Scott and Glenn, John Dibinsky, Pastor Ernie Goertzen and Rock Fontaine.
A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be in the late Spring of 2025.

Godspeed Raymond. Ray was a ray of sunshine, I remember his laugh fondly. He was such a jokester and made everyone laugh. I loved going to the horse races with Lisa and Wilma watching Wheeler race. He also made me laugh. Deacons corner and eating at Salisbury was a large part of my childhood. My Dad and Ray worked together and they both grew up in Marchand..I feel blessed that Lisa brought his Dad to see me at the Lake just recently. We shared some beautiful memories and he shared some stories about my Dad. My condolences to Rick and Lisa and the entire family. - Posted by: Belinda Stelmack (Family friend) on: May 25, 2025

My dad and I are very sorry to hear about Ray's passing. Lots of memories of Ray, just hanging with Lisa at their house or in the barn with the horses when we were kids. My dad always enjoyed catching up with Ray at Chicken Chef in recent years. Always loved that man's cute little button nose and sweet smile. Sending love to you all at this difficult time. - Posted by: Wendy Cooper / Ernie Palidwor (Friends) on: Jan 05, 2025

So sorry to hear of Rays' passing. Ray and I worked at Northern Messenger and then United Messenger. We also got together with retired drivers from Northern Messenger, going out for lunch or dinner and rehashing old stories from work and growing up. Ray could always make us laugh with his Assiniboine Down stories and stories of farm life. My sympathy to Rays' family, I know he will be missed. Rest in Peace Ray! - Posted by: Betty Makar (Work) on: Dec 23, 2024

Deepest Condolences to the family upon reading of the passing of your Dad. I have many memories from years ago of his days at Salisbury House-of his laugh, smile and cigar in his mouth. In more recent years, upon my return home, running into him at Chicken Chef in Dugald. His smile and laugh never changed. Heaven has gained another special man. - Posted by: Karen Kalinski (Peril) (Friend ) on: Dec 22, 2024
