YVONNE WOODWARD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Yvonne Woodward, on December 21, 2024.

Born on January 2, 1937, in Newcastle, England, Yvonne moved to Winnipeg in 1957. She was a very cheerful and positive person who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her four grand and three great-grandchildren. She also loved going for walks in St. Vital Park with her husband Harry and enjoyed her many weekends at the Lake near Gimli with family and friends.

Cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life will be held with the family at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Jeff, Laurie, Jennifer and Nick, we are so sorry for your loss. Yvonne was always so very kind and lovely whenever we met at a family celebration. Thinking of you all and sending love. Jeanette and Brad and family - Posted by: Jeanette Hrushka (Sister-in-law) on: Jan 14, 2025

  • To the family of Yvonne Woodward: I worked for the Winnipeg Singers in the mid nineties. The first year I was with them, their office was rented quarters in Norwood United Church. Yvonne was the church secretary. Every morning I would join Yvonne, the church caretaker, and other church folk for coffee to start the day. After the Singers moved their office out of Norwood church and after I left their employ, Yvonne and I kept in touch. We made a point of meeting for lunch before my dental appointments. After Yvonne stopped driving, my husband and I would pick her up and go for lunch at the Sals near where she lived. We lost contact during COVID. Yvonne was a good friend. She worked hard, loved her family, and did everything in an ethical manner. She would think the best of people first. She was interested in many things. I will remember our chats about Masterpiece Theatre TV productions. We are glad she had a long life. We met your father and were at his funeral. They are back together now. Please accept our condolences. Sincerely, Lynn & Charlie Jaworski - Posted by: Lynn & Charles Jaworski (friend) on: Jan 14, 2025
