Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRYAN VICTOR WHITE
Bryan Victor White, aged 81, passed away peacefully on his birthday, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba surrounded by family.
He was a loving father to his sons, Doug (Tara), Don (Treena), Brent (Trisha), and Rob (Nicole) White, and a proud grandfather to seven incredible grandchildren: Kari, Parker, Max, Lily, Mason, Eden, and Alexis. Bryan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lynda White (nee Wilson), who passed away in October 2012. Despite her absence, he fought hard over the past 12 years to stay active and ultimately found a new routine before his dementia took hold a few years ago. Dad passed calmly, thanks to the compassionate care provided by the staff at Vista Park Lodge Nursing Home in Winnipeg. A special thanks to the entire team at Vista Park Lodge for their incredible skill, patience, and respect in delivering the end-of-life supports that Bryan needed.
A humble obituary is fitting for our dad, as that was his way. Decades of being a devoted husband and father of four boys meant a busy life filled with work, school events, hockey, and family dinners, leaving little time for himself. Dad was incredible on the barbeque, a fantastic Sunday night dinner co-host with Mom, a proven navigator on the lake, a capable construction manager at the cottage, and always a proficient Hockey Night in Canada analyst. While not the loudest in the room, he commanded respect in what was often a chaotic "White House" and was always present when Mom or us boys needed anything. From our time as a family on Coleridge Park Drive in St. James, to Burgess Avenue in Fort Richmond, to Kingswood Crescent in La Salle, Dad ensured that all his boys, our friends, and our significant others had a roof over their heads, plenty of food, and lots of love, leaving little to want or need from him and Mom.
Dad began his career in Winnipeg as a Chartered Accountant, followed by professional management stints at both Champs Food Systems in Winnipeg and Arctic Beverages in Flin Flon. Personally, curling, lake time in Minaki or at Welcome Channel in Lake of the Woods, golf, his beloved golden retrievers, his perfectly manicured yard, and spending time with his family were his true passions, where he committed so much time for the benefit of all.
Dad will always be remembered for his unwavering loyalty and the love he had for his family. Not one to be outwardly emotional, in the quiet moments, he showed us his love, and his life will be a testament to the power of simple, unwavering devotion to Mom and our entire family. Rest easy, Dad. Mom's waiting!
No formal family service will be held in Bryan's memory, but if friends so desire, please consider sending a gift of thanks to the Vista Park Lodge Nursing Home located at 144 Nova Vista Drive in Winnipeg (Ph: 204-257-6688).

Our sincere sympathy to Doug, Don, Brent, Robbie, their wives, And their children. Bryan was a loyal, kind, intelligent and generous man. Together with Lynda they were close long time friends of ours. We have many happy memories of the times we spent together As a couple and also as families particularly at the lake when the Children were all very young. It was always clear that their highest priority was their four boys and then later their very precious grandchildren. They were so proud of all of you. We are wintering in south Texas when we read of Bryan's passing. We knew of his health situation and experienced it in person with Doug's help. Curling with Bryan and Ron Collet for many years will remind me of our friendship and experiences and our collective love of the great outdoors and the lake. We will miss him and the White family including the golden retreivers. - Posted by: Jim & Dorothy Ernst (friends) on: Jan 20, 2025

There are so many wonderful memories about the Whites in LaSalle. Linda being the first welcomer with cookies at the door when we moved into our home in LaSalle. Sharing a telephone party line with the family, along with another family of teenagers. The whole family coming to our adopted golden retriever’s birthday party. All the rides Linda gave me to work. Bryan giving our son a job. They were truly a blessing to have in your life. Our condolences to the boys, their partners and their children. - Posted by: Sharon and Tom Trosky (Neighbors in LaSalle) on: Jan 12, 2025
