MORNA MARGARET JEAN HEAD

(nee CALDWELL)

February 14, 1939 -

December 26, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Morna Head in Parksville, British Columbia on December 26, 2024, at the age of 85, after a struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She was predeceased by her husband Barry and two sons, David and Dwayne. Left to remember her fondly are daughter Terry and husband Graeme (Errington, BC), her sister Heather and niece Lesley (Victoria, BC) and extended family in Calgary, AB.

Morna was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met and married Barry and raised their children, Terry and David. They enjoyed lots of years camping before cottage ownership at Victoria Beach. They transferred to Calgary for 15 years and finally enjoyed early retirement on Salt Spring Island, BC for many years.

Morna was an artist from childhood on, she painted a mural for her school in grade 3 and designed the school crest for her high school (St. Mary’s Academy in Winnipeg.) Later a golfer, curler, skier, knitter, swimmer, gardener and lover of good books and movies. Her art work and lovely crafts were shared with her family and friends. She had a keen interest in her family’s genealogy and did research in the city of Glasgow to find her mother’s roots.

Mum loved to travel and made her dream trip to Egypt in 2004 with her sister Heather. She loved camping and Mother Nature, especially in Super Natural BC, spent many hours in her lovely gardens on Salt Spring Island. Morna was a lover of all animals and especially loved her “grandson” Owen, who spent many Sunday’s snuggling with his Grannie.

In early and later years Morna lived amidst her family who loved her very much…. she will be missed forever.

Mum you are the most beautiful memory I will keep locked inside my heart forever.

You can rest at peace now.
