MARGARET GAIL MATTHEWS

(nee BROOKING)

February 21, 1937 - January 9, 2025


In loving memory of Margaret Gail Matthews (nee Brooking), daughter of William and Margaret Brooking.

Preceded in death by sister Betty Anne Boulton (Ted) and husband A.J. Matthews. Survived by Ian J. Matthews, Dawn E. Browning (Micheal); grandchildren, Eryn A. Browning, Meija Lea McWilliams (Lee), Staff Sgt. Ty J. Browning and wife Katy and six great-grandchildren. Also nieces and nephews, K.B., Laura, William and David Boulton, as well cousins, Bob Atkinson, Neil Brooking, and Nick Logan.

Gail attended Balmoral Hall School, Winnipeg General Hospital school of nursing, and Brandon Psychiatric school of nursing.

Left to mourn her are Garth Feasby in Brandon, MB, Beverly Verkouterin in Santa Barbara, California and numerous friends on Vancouver Island.

Gail loved to ride horseback, ski up and down hills, gardening, and will always be remembered for her unique sense of humour. She was very happy living out her last years in Chemainus, BC where she volunteered at the food bank and St. Micheal's and all Angels Anglican church.

In charge of her remains are H. W. Wallace cremation and burial centre in Duncan, BC. There will be a celebration of her life in the future, (and forever).
