BRIAN KENNETH TERRICK
Brian Kenneth Terrick, age 78, of Steinbach, MB., passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Rest Haven Care Home, Steinbach, MB.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys; daughter, Sonja (Paul); son, John (Anita); and grandchildren, Alex (Natalie), Aidan (Emma), Vienna, and Naomi.
Brian was born on June 7, 1946, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. He had a passion for sports, including golf, curling, and hockey. His competitive spirit extended to the extremely intense games of crokinole, shuffleboard, and cribbage as well. He was honest to a fault and did not pretend to be someone he wasn’t.
In his early twenties, Brian had a life-changing experience with Jesus, which led him to leave his university poolhall days behind him to join YWAM Winnipeg and attend Bible College. In 1971, he married the love of his life, Gladys, and together they shared 53 years.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at both Bethesda Regional Health Centre and Resthaven Care Home for their compassionate care and expertise during Brian’s final days. Special thanks also to Bruno Kampen for his genuine friendship and unwavering support over the last few years, as well as the caring staff at Bridgepark Manor.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.
The interment will take place at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Brian’s memory be made to the Movement Disorder Clinic at Deer Lodge Hospital, whose support was invaluable during his battle with Parkinson’s disease.
