Fred was born in Vita at the old Hospital on June 24, 1934, and passed away at the Vita Personal Care Home on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 63 years, Margit, his sons Harold & Elizabeth and Harolds children Victoria, Dane, Olivia and Cecelia; Paul & Barbara and their children Julianna and Andrew; John & Michelle and their sons Cole and Tyler; David & Tatianna and Bevin; Fred Jr. & Cheyenne and daughters Quinn and Avery; his sister Lillian Guest, sister Violet Hansche, and brother Harold in B.C. Fred will also be missed by many good friends.
Fred was predeceased by his parents William and Adeline Wanke, his first born son Karl, January 1976, brother Gorden Wanke, two brothers-in-law Martin Hansche, William Guest, and his in-laws Otto & Vera Uckermann.
Cremation has taken place.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with interment at Norwegian Cemetery, Menisino, MB.
