DELMAR GRETCHEN BECK
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom and grandma. Peacefully, with family by her side, Del passed away at Riverview Health Centre on January 26, 2025, at the age of 85 years.
Del was born in Stonewall, Manitoba and grew up in Winnipeg. As a child she took dance classes and loved to skate. After graduating from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, Del embarked on a long career in Office Administration and Human Resource Management. She was first employed at Remington Rand, followed by Western Smallware and then American Motors. Del’s last 22 years of her career were spent at Purolator Courier, where she hired and mentored hundreds of people and made wonderful lifelong friends.
Del was a working wife and mother to her three children, Ron (Lyle), Ken (Karen) and Leanne (Gord). She supported them in all their endeavours and was proud of all their accomplishments. Del was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends.
The last 12 years of Del’s life were brightened by the arrival of her granddaughter, Sadie. Nothing brought her more joy than being with Sadie and watching her golf, play hockey, or perform in piano and dance recitals, among many other activities. In her later years, while dealing with some health struggles, Del was grateful for the love and support from her children, her sister Linda Dixon, and many good friends. She was very thankful for the excellent care she received from the extraordinary team of physicians and nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba would be greatly appreciated.

I worked with Dell at Purolator, she was a great help to me when I was promoted into the management team. Dell was always professional and loved her job, she was respected by many. I remember when she came to work with one blue shoe and one black shoe getting dressed in the dark was not her calling however working in HR was, she impacted many lives and she was great at her job! RIP Dell! Bonnie - Posted by: Bonnie smith (Friend co worker) on: Feb 23, 2025

Ron, Ken and Leanne, My condolences on the loss of your Mother. When I worked downtown (more than 10 years ago) quite often I would run into your Mom and when I did we would get caught up on all the news. Naturally she had taken the bus downtown to do some shopping. I enjoyed those impromptu visits and miss her too. May your memories of the good times bring you peace and put a smile on your face. One of my favorite memories is - how excited your Mom was when Sandra and I dropped off a whole wafer pie at her apartment. Hugs to you all, Bill Toews - Posted by: Bill Toews (Friend) on: Feb 12, 2025
