JUDITH ANNE VIGFUSSON

(nee NICHOL)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judie on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Gimli Community Health Centre.

Judie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband John Vigfusson, sons Dale (Ildiko) and Dallas Haigh; grandsons Ryan (Charity) and Landon Haigh, great granddaughters Saydee and Anna Anderson and her special friend of 80 years, Helen Herr. She also leaves many relatives on the Vigfusson side and would like to thank two nieces, Louise Tower and Kerrine Adair for all they’ve done for her.

Judie was born June 4, 1936, in the Regina Misericordia Hospital and grew up in Regina. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Beatrice Nichol and her brother Bobby.

John and Judie were fortunate to have 28 wonderful years together. She so enjoyed being the wife of a farmer. They went on many adventures together throughout Canada and the USA. They spent 19 winters as snowbirds in Pine to Palm Resort Park in Texas and in 2014 they moved from the farm to Gimli.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverton Community Church of the Nazarene, 25 Main Street, Riverton with Menno Friesen officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Regina, beside her parents.

Flowers are gratefully declined and if you choose to, donations to CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated.

Many thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, Aids, Housekeeping staff and Cooks at the Gimli Hospital for your care and compassion during her stay in hospital.

Gilbart Funeral Home,

Gimli in care of arrangements.
