Leona May Kornelsen (née Loewen), age 88, passed away in her home at Lindenwood Manor in Winnipeg, MB on Monday, February 3, around 11:30 p.m. She had been diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm which ruptured, causing her to collapse in her bedroom with her husband by her side.
Leona will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother who lived her life in love and service to her family.
Leona is survived by her husband John, her children. Myra (Bill) Clarke, Lowell, Jeff (Bonnie), and James (Michelle Janzen), along with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Barry and daughter Lenore.
The funeral will take place at the Ft. Garry EMC Church on Monday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m. The service may be viewed virtually at birchwoodfuneralchapel.com

We first met Leona and John the day that they were moving in. We went over and welcomed them to the Manor while watching their family move them in. Leona was always a kind person who was treat to sit with and converse with. It is a shock hear that she passed away.
