Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. BARRY WALTER RICHARD POLLOCK, DVM
It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden death of Dr. Barry Pollock at his home on February 7, 2025, at the age of 75.
He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, his children, Heather (Glenn), Stephen (Jesse), their mother Lenore, stepchildren, Lindsay (Geoff), Dana, Scott and 10 grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Karen (Rick), a niece, nephew and their families.
Barry graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1973, opening a large animal private practice in Dinsmore and Rosetown, SK. After several years and many, many field births, in all weathers, he closed his practice due to health and went to work for Agriculture and Agri Food Canada in Saskatchewan and subsequently Manitoba. After retirement Barry was approached to teach a program for veterinary assistants at Robertson College, where he gained the respect of more than a few students and staff.
After his move back to Winnipeg, Barry connected with his high school crush, and they were married in August of 2003. Like the couple in a favourite TV program, 'As Time Goes By', Marilyn and Barry enjoyed 21 years together along with their beloved dogs, Jackson, Jaxc and Emma.
Celebration of Life service to be held at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Parish at 35 Marcie St., Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Yaroslav Buduykevych officiating. Light lunch to follow in the parish hall. Private family Interment to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada, Heart & Stroke or a charity of choice.

Barry was a childhood friend. We grew up on the same street in East Kildonan. We attended the same church. The kids in our neighborhood all played together in the evenings so we knew each other well. Many happy memories were made while we spent time together. Deepest condolences to his wife, children and sister. - Posted by: Pat Lecuyer (Childhood friend) on: Feb 22, 2025

Saddened to hear of Barry’s passing. He was the “leader” of the neighborhood kids when it came to organizing hide and seek, also baseball games. I can also remember he had the ability to whistle incredibly loud! My condolences to Karen and family. - Posted by: Alan Karpiak (Neighbour across the street on Winterton Ave.) on: Feb 22, 2025
