AARON DOUGLAS HOFFER

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Aaron Douglas Hoffer, who was born on August 21, 1941, and passed away on February 14, 2025.

Aaron Douglas was preceded in death by his loving parents, Harold and Rose Hoffer. He is survived by his children, Rebecca Powell (Jeff), Matthew Hoffer, Paul Hoffer (Marlene), Barrie Cheifetz (Allan); grandchildren, Niki and Samantha Powell, Chloe Hoffer, Zachary Hoffer (Angela), Naomi Hoffer, Natalie Cheifetz and great-grandson Caiden Hoffer.

Aaron Douglas was a dedicated lawyer who graduated from the University of Manitoba and practiced law in Winnipeg for 40 years. He was quick on his feet and had strong in-court attributes that served him well throughout his career. He cherished spending time with his family, creating lasting memories together. Beyond his professional life, Aaron Douglas contributed to a variety of not-for-profit organizations including Variety Club Children's Charity and the Big Brother Big Sisters of Canada organizations reflecting his desire to give back to his community. He was an avid participant in the Shaarey Zedek choir, loved reading, loved sports both playing and watching. He was kind to others and a people person.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and support at the Simkin Centre for the exceptional care provided to Aaron Douglas during his five years there.

Funeral was held February 18th at the Chesed Shel Emes in Winnipeg.
