Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES LORNE PUGH
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Pugh on February 22, 2025, at the age of 89. Lorne was born on February 5, 1936, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and was predeceased by his mother, father, brother Ross, and his son Roy.
Lorne spent the summers near his uncle's farm, where he learned the value of hard work and dedication. He later joined the Winnipeg Fire Department, where he proudly served his community and eventually retired as a Captain on December 1, 1990.
After retirement, Lorne enjoyed many winters traveling to the United States, where he found peace and relaxation. He was especially fond of his two dogs, who brought him much joy and companionship over the years.
Lorne is survived by his son Darrell (Tanya) and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We would like to thank all the staff at Middlechurch Personal Care Home for the care they provided Lorne in the last years of his life.
A Celebration of Life in Lorne’s memory will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel located at 1800 Day Street on March 5 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, a cause close to his heart.
Lorne will be remembered for his dedication to service and his love for animals.

Heartfelt condolences from our family to Lorne’s. Dad was a firefighter who loved his job and the guys were like a second family. I remember Lorne and dad sharing a lot of laughs usually at each other expense when he would come out to the farm. ♥️ - Posted by: Scott Hamblin (Acquaintance) on: Mar 01, 2025

I was on the same shift as Lorne and we shared time in the stations and at fires. He was a good firefighter and a good officer. It sounds as though he had a long and pleasant retirement. He helped people and did a lot of good as a firefighter. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Scott Miner (Collegue) on: Mar 01, 2025
