Dear Rita & Family, We were saddened to hear of John's passing. Though it has been a few years since we last saw you, we often talk about the wonderful time we had at your mom's 100th birthday. You were all so welcoming & we remember how John had a big smile every time we saw him. In our conversation, it was apparent how he loved his family & how proud he was of you all. Our thoughts & prayers are with you. We pray that the memories of the happy times with John will bring some comfort to you in the coming days. Dear Rita and Family: I am very sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with John on a few projects some time ago and always found John to be very knowledgeable and a great person to work with. Soon after John retired I ran into him while sledding with my cousin near West Hawk. It was nice to see him outside of the office environment enjoying the winter outing. - Posted by: Elmer Guest (Friend - engineering collegue) on: Mar 12, 2025

I am truly saddened to hear about the passing of John Wasney. My deepest condolences go out to Denny, Leah, and the entire Wasney family during this incredibly difficult time. John had a way of making every gathering feel warmer, every conversation more enjoyable. He was one of the guys—always quick with a joke, always welcoming, always someone you could share a laugh with. Our back-and-forth banter was something I’ll always remember fondly, a reflection of the easy respect and camaraderie he brought into every room. Losing someone like John in the family leaves a space that can never be filled, but I hope the lessons he taught, the manner he lived, the love he shared and the memories he created bring comfort in the days ahead. My heart is with you all, and I’m sending love, strength, and prayers to your family. With deepest sympathy, Jon Buccini - Posted by: Jon Buccini (Freind) on: Mar 12, 2025

I was blessed to have such a great father-in-law and good friend in John. He made me feel like I was his best friend and his son at the same time. I remember all his funny stories of hanging with the guys, golfing, snowmobiling, Harley rides, Grey Cup and Jets parties, early days when he dated Rita and all the friends they hung out with. It seemed like he did it all!! He spoke very highly of his sisters and his late parents, he loved hanging out with his Famjam and he especially adored his grandkids. We are all so saddened by his passing and thought we had more time to enjoy his laughter and his love. Missing John is one of the hardest things I have had to do and I just don’t have the words to express how much I miss and love him. I send my condolences to his entire family and his many groups of friends…rest in peace Pops. - Posted by: Denny Azevedo (Son in law) on: Mar 10, 2025

Dear Rita, Krista, and Leah My heartfelt condolences on the loss of John. I have many good memories of him at family events. He was always easy to talk to, and as an introvert myself, he was an inspiration to be more outgoing. I look forward to seeing you on Friday and hope later we can regroup under happier circumstances. Growing up with Krista we always knew what a remarkable man John was. Even just last year when my daughter (20) and I saw them at a craft sale he was just as vibrant and joyful as he was when we were growing up. Sending Rita, Krista, Leah and the whole family never-ending love and light during this incredibly dark time. Please take care of yourselves and each other. xoxo Chass - Posted by: Chassity Mcintyre (Family Friend of Krista's) on: Mar 08, 2025
