Soon after John retired I ran into him while sledding with my cousin near West Hawk. John had a way of making every gathering feel warmer, every conversation more enjoyable. He was one of the guys—always quick with a joke, always welcoming, always someone you could share a laugh with. Our back-and-forth banter was something I’ll always remember fondly, a reflection of the easy respect and camaraderie he brought into every room. • I was blessed to have such a great father-in-law and good friend in John. He made me feel like I was his best friend and his son at the same time. I remember all his funny stories of hanging with the guys, golfing, snowmobiling, Harley rides, Grey Cup and Jets parties, early days when he dated Rita and all the friends they hung out with. It seemed like he did it all!! He spoke very highly of his sisters and his late parents, he loved hanging out with his Famjam and he especially adored his grandkids. We are all so saddened by his passing and thought we had more time to enjoy his laughter and his love. Missing John is one of the hardest things I have had to do and I just don’t have the words to express how much I miss and love him. • I knew John through motorcycling. Went on a couple of great group rides several years ago…even shared a hotel room on one ride.
