George Ferber passed away peacefully at home in Winnipeg on January 14, 2025.
Born November 5, 1948, to John and Stella Ferber, he studied photography and computer technologies at Red River College. He spent over 30 years as a field technician with MTS, retiring in 2007.
George married Lina in 1982, and they built a quiet life in North Kildonan, raising their son, Jonathan. George loved baking, music, movies, and gardening. He and Jonathan shared a love for trains, spending time watching them together.
Predeceased by his beloved Lina (2013) and his brother Hans (2016), George is survived by Jonathan, who carries forward his parents' memory. George will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and the simple joys he cherished.

My condolences to George's family. I enjoyed many a coffee break at a Portage Place eatery which George did frequent. He was a smart but humble guy. He was interested in what others had to say and was respectful of our options. We shared common interests such as electronics and photography which made conversation even easier. Jonathan, we met your mom and dad when we moved into the neighborhood in 1999. Your mom and dad were kind to us. We remember your mom giving us pickled red peppers and sharing her recipe with us. And your dad even offered to loan us tools while we were settling in. We know it was difficult for your family after your mom passed away. We also know that in your dad's later years, you provided him with loving care and support.
