Carol passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 104.
She leaves behind her son Charlie (Janice), daughter Dorothy, grandchildren, Meredith (Kevin), Iain (Gina), Neil and Chris, and granddaughters, Maddy, Lily, Chelsey and Rose. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years (Douglas) and her sister (Dorothy Kirkwood).
Carol was born, raised and educated in Edinburgh, Scotland. She served with the NAAFI during the Second World War. She taught in Edinburgh and Winnipeg (David Livingstone and Principal Sparling), retiring in 1984. She was a member of the University Women's Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and was active in the Air Cadet League of Canada.
The family would like to thank everyone at Thorvaldson's Care Centre and the staff of 5N, Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion.
A private memorial will be held in Ottawa at a later date.
