The family is sad to announce the passing of Peter Parchewsky at the Deer Lodge Centre on March 5, 2025, at the age of 85.
Peter is predeceased by his mother Annie (nee Woytowich) and his father Isadore. He is survived by his brother Leonard.
Peter was born in Saskatoon and after living just outside Prince Albert moved with his parents and brother to Winnipeg and lived in St. Vital before moving to Windsor Park. While in St. Vital, he attended Windsor School, Glenwood School and Glenlawn Collegiate.
Peter worked in the Winnipeg Free Press Mail Room until he retired in 2002.
Peter was an ardent fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets, but he looked forward most to his own annual “road trip” to visit relatives and friends in western Canada which took him all the way to British Columbia by car where he was usually able to spend several days in Vancouver and Kamloops with relatives.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Coutu funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, with a luncheon reception to follow. Burial will take place at Holy Family Cemetery following the service.
