In the last few months Carol received much kindness and care from many friends, family and health care teams.
Carol wanted them all to know how much she appreciated them for the care, comfort, support, and friendship they provided her.
She wanted to express her immense gratitude to her dear friends, Lyla and Evon, Jennifer and Wayne, Marilyn, Linda, Carol, Estrad, and Mary-Anne, to her daughter Maureen and her late husband Leslie for all the years of love and support they shared together, to her brother Harvey for his constant support, to her niece Sheree whom she adored, to Leslie's son James for the levity he provided her, to Leslie's son Lorry for his tender care and devotion to her, and to the Palliative care team, the MAID team, and the Mara home care team.
Carol was the kindest, most generous person who loved life, enjoyed music and visiting with her many friends and neighbours. Carol loved to laugh and had a wicked sense of humour. Carol‘s greatest happiness came from time spent with those she loved. Her warmth, kindness and unwavering loyalty and support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

It's thanks to the obituary that I heard about Carol's passing. I've known Carol for years and we continued our friendship when I moved to Florida. Carol was always concerned about me and gave me comfort and advice helping me get through several hurricanes. It was Carol who I was able to communicate with when the power went out. We had a fun trip to Minneapolis and Carol always wanted to gamble at the Indian reservation casino. My husband and I were clients of Les and we had Les do our income tax for years and we met Carol though Les and became real good friends. Now with Les and Carol's passing, it leaves a hole with my Winnipeg connections. I'm already missing them. - Posted by: Barbara Kraichy (Good Friend) on: May 02, 2025

Carol was my client for over 20 years, and I she would come get her hair done many times a month. We became close and shared many special moments together. Many things happened in that time, she shared her enthusiasm for theatre, we would talk sports all the time, as she was a huge Bomber and Jets fan. Some days were less joyful, as I can recall a time when Leslie would wander away from home and Carol would be worried about where he was and if he was safe. She cared for him selflessly. Her giving nature is why I would always go above and beyond when I could. During Covid, she would ask me to come to their home and do their hair, as she missed her weekly appointments with me. It was nice to bring a smile to their faces with my visits. The last year was tougher to see Carol struggle, but she was truly an amazing and positive character through it all. She never complained, she just carried on and adjusted. She always asked about my family and thought about others, even during her time of pain. I am so grateful she allowed me in to her home to continue doing her hair. On the evening of March 24, around 9pm, I was driving near her place and just thought to pop in on her as I was leaving on vacation the next day. She was sleeping, but I held her hand, and I told her I would see her when I get back. She gently nodded her head side to side and told me MAID was coming. She then asked me to get the brush, and I brushed her hair one last time. Carol, I will miss you and I will forever cherish the many great conversations we had together. I am blessed to have been your hairstylist for so many years. Cheers to you, my friend! - Posted by: Vikki (Carol’s hairstylist) on: Apr 02, 2025

I’m in shock of this news. I volunteered with her husband in the last years of his life and got to know Carol as well. You couldn’t find a more devoted wife who doggedly took care of Leslie making sure all available resources were in place for him. I found her a kind, caring, generous and welcoming person. It was my great pleasure to get to know this couple. - Posted by: Fred Switzer (Volunteer and friend) on: Mar 29, 2025
