  • Not a day goes by I don't think of Bret and mourn for him. I was his girlfriend when he lived in Grey Creek. He used to pick me up and we often spend a few days together. We used to have real fun together. He was my first real boyfriend. We were lighthearted and innocent. But man did we have a great time. Those times I'll always cherish in my heart. We would visit his friends alot and enjoy life. I know he kept his friends very close to his heart. He was the most compassionate person and one time he came out of nowhere to pick me up hitchhiking to his place and it was dark. He said he just knew I was there. He loved Crawford Bay and Grey Creek and made it his home. Many people knew him and had great respect for him. It was really hard for me to lose him. One day I was walking near my house and his friend came and told me that his boat was found in the lake. It was heartbroken for him. I knew he had needed money at the time and was struggling to make ends meet. I'm sorry I couldn't have been there so support him more. He had just gotten a new boat . He loved the water. I went out on his boat one time. He enjoyed the tranquility of the water. He told me of his family and how he cared and loved them. I respected that about him. But then he got his new boat and I know he was really into it. He spent alot of time working on it and I didn't see him that much for a few months. Then I heard the news from his friend that they had found his boat ⛵. I was so sad and I'm sorry I never made it to his memorial. I lived farther away and I didn't have a car at the time. I feel bad. He was the most compassionate person and I even got a tattoo for him after he went missing which I still have. My dearest regards go to his family and all his friends that he used to party and have fun with. He'd had an amazing life and is greatly missed. With respect and fond memories, Kyla. - Posted by: Kyla (We were boyfriend and girlfriend) on: Apr 27, 2025
