Date of Passing: Mar 27, 2025
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) DWAIN UPTON
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Dwain Upton on March 27, 2025, at the age of 81, due to natural causes. He passed away at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived.
Bob had a wonderful life with his wife, Faye Upton (nee Baldwin), and their two children, Steven and Jennifer, and then in 2014 his granddaughter, Sadie. In 2001, Bob was devastated by the sudden passing of Faye, and he found solace in grief counseling and Buddhism. In time, he also became involved in the recovery community, where he formed deep connections and dedicated himself to supporting and uplifting others.
Bob is survived by his son, Steven Upton (Rachel Tiltman); daughter, Jennifer Upton (Bryan Scott); and his beloved granddaughter, Sadie Scott. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
A service to honour Bob's memory will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the Norwood Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Siloam Mission or the Bruce Oak Recovery Centre.
Bob was an extraordinary person whose patience and kindness touched everyone he met. He had a unique ability to connect with people, and for those fortunate enough to have him in their lives, his deep well of patience and compassion was unmistakable. His love was quiet but unwavering, and above all, he carried a profound sense of gratitude in everything he did.
Be Well. Help Out. Inspire Others.
May you rest in peace, Dad

I met Bob in meetings and although our connection was visibly limited, but on the inside it was immediate he brought a calmness with his presence and it gave me strength. Sometimes we don’t know that we make an impact with others his misdemeanour will always be with me and that I will hold on to. You will be missed and the legacy you left will always remain my condolences to all - Posted by: Keith Wade (Friend) on: Apr 25, 2025

I first met Bob when I assumed his position as System Service Manager at NCR in Winnipeg in the mid 70's. We became close friends and shared many good times; together, with the guys, and also as couples with Faye and my wife. My sincere condolences to you both, Steven and Jennifer and families. I know your Dad was very proud of both of you. He was a good and loyal man and will be missed by all who knew him. - Posted by: Murray MacLaren (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2025
