SHELLEY ANN SINCLAIR

July 23, 1955 – April 14, 2025

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Shelley Ann Sinclair (nee Smith), who passed away at the Campbell River Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2025, comforted by her unwavering faith and surrounded by the love of family and friends. Shelley was born on July 23, 1955, in The Pas, Manitoba to the late Frank Smyrichinsky (Smith) and Lillian Picklyk. She was also predeceased by her brothers Dan Smyrichinsky and Don Smith.

Shelley was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage and was an active member of Ancestry where she enjoyed exploring her Ukrainian roots. Shelley was a strong woman of faith who supported her family and friends with kindness and caring, making us all feel loved and valued. Her generous spirit always made us feel comfortable and uplifted. Shelley found peace in nature, especially in the quiet moments in her garden. Shelley is survived by her husband Jim Noakes, her son Grayson Noakes ( Kelly), her brother John Smith (Claudette), her sisters Cindy Tkachuk, and Kelley Geisler (Greg), her very close friends Alice Myers, Emma and Leisha and their families, nieces Natasha Smith, Megan Geisler, Jessica Pool (Gary), Sherrie Tkachuk (Kyle) and Tanya Strzalkowsky (Scott) ; nephews Derek Smith, Markus Geisler, Sean Smyrichinsky (Shellie), Darryl Smyrichinsky and friend Jock Sinclair. Shelley also had numerous Ukrainian cousins in Manitoba, from both the Picklyk and Smyrichinsky families.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Palliative Care Team, especially to R.N. Shauna, Dr. Hunter and the hospital staff for their care and compassion towards Shelley. In accordance with Shelley's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held at this time. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Campbell River Hospital or a Charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • It was with great sadness that I heard of Shelley’s passing. I am comforted by the knowledge of her deep spiritual faith and her profound love of her family. I knew Shelley for a brief time in her long and beautiful life, and was struck right away by her very calm nature and her great concern for those around her, more than for her own self. I had the privilege of meeting her husband, brother, sister-in-law, son and daughter-in-law during her time in the Campbell River Hospital. Shelley and her family’s open-heartedness and acceptance of such a difficult diagnosis left me filled with deep respect and awe and I my life has been enriched by all of them. I wish her peace and I wish her family comfort in the knowledge that she made an incredible positive impact on those around her, just by being who she was. Sending her family and friends my very deepest sympathy. She will be missed, but never, never forgotten. With my deepest condolences, (Dr.) Susan Hunter - Posted by: Susan Hunter (Friend of fsmily) on: Apr 26, 2025

  • My deepest Sympathy on the loss of Shelley. We had an opportunity to see each other in our early years more often, but as we grew life takes us in different directions. My memories of Shelley were as children and playing on my parents farm in Lonesand, MB. My deepest Sympathy to Jim, Grayson John and Claudette and families. Shelley has already embraced her parents, siblings and extended family. May she Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Donna Seredycz (Cousin (Prociuk -Picklyk)) on: Apr 19, 2025
