In loving memory
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Guy was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Laurette and his parents, Joseph and Cleophee Trudel. We take comfort in knowing that Dad is reunited with Mom and that we now have two special angels to watch over us. We know that he is rejoining many beloved relatives and friends who have passed before him.
Guy leaves to mourn his beloved children, Debbie (Victor), Donna (Brent), and Guy Jr. ((Michele); three grandchildren, Serena (Allan), Liron and Janvier as well as a great-grandson Carson. Also left to mourn his passing are his siblings, Marielle, Real (Jeanette), Raymond (Yolande), Claudette (John), Celine and Donna. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Rose Joubert and Ida Beaudry (Eugene).
Dad was born in St. Malo, Manitoba on December 10, 1937. He worked various jobs in Western Canada before returning to Manitoba. Dad married mom on October 16, 1962. Guy began his firefighting career in Churchill where Debbie and Donna were born. Guy and Laurette eventually moved to Winnipeg, then St. Norbert and Fort Garry where Guy Jr. was born. Dad continued his career in Fort Garry and later in Winnipeg as the fire departments amalgamated in 1974. He finally moved the family to Transcona where he retired as a Captain from Station 25. Dad was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was quick to offer a helping hand to all. Dad coached his daughter’s ringette team and encouraged his son’s hockey playing. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ringette and hockey and cheered them on enthusiastically.
We will miss his sense of humour, his storytelling and his presence at family dinners and celebrations. We are grateful for the care and support that Dad and his family received from the first floor staff at Concordia Place where we were told more than once that he was a staff favourite.
Rest in peace Dad. You have earned your place in heaven.
As per the family’s wishes a private service has taken place at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street in Winnipeg, MB.

I fondly remember uncle Guy and Aunt Laurette coming over to our home in St. Pierre-Jolys, with Debbie and Donna (and later Ti-Guy) to visit, usually on Sundays. Uncle Guy and my father Amedee, would enjoy talking about politics, farming and other everyday events, usually over a few beers. Uncle Guy had a good sense of humour, forever telling new jokes ever time he came over. I'm sorry to hear about his passing. He was truly one of my favorite uncles. My thoughts are with you cousin Guy, Debbie and Donna. - Posted by: Guy Joubert (MY UNCLE) on: Apr 26, 2025

Deapest condolences to the Trudel family. I worked with Guy at 25 Station. We had a great crew and had many good times together. Guy was always willing to teach the younger guys. We worked with 2 other firefighters who were quite tall. In winter Guy and I used to stand on snow banks so we could be eye level with them. Took a while for them to catch on. - Posted by: Victor Basarowich (Co-worker) on: Apr 26, 2025

Sincere condolences Debbie, Donna and Junior. Our families spent a lot of time together. I used to babysit for your parents when I was a teenager. I would take the bus from St. Boniface all the way to Fort Garry with my Kraft Pizza box mix. It was expected every time thereafter! Your Dad’s favourite line to me was “Shut the door, the “mouches” are coming in!” Your parents were my guests of honour at my graduation, they were very special to me ❤️ Rest in peace Mon Oncle Ti-Guy❤️ - Posted by: Diane Trudel Gosselin (Niece) on: Apr 26, 2025

Guy and I fought fires together. He was a good guy to have in the station. He was a good firefighter and a good officer. I hope he enjoyed being retired. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Scott Miner (Collegue) on: Apr 26, 2025
