RUTH AMELIA GOOCH

Peacefully, and surrounded by family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Amelia Gooch on April 23, 2025, at the age of 95. Ruth is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Gary of 67 years.

Mom will be sadly missed and remembered by her three children, son David (Lisa) and daughters, Val and Judy (Garnett). Ruth’s seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren will hold dear all the fun and memories they shared with her.

Ruth was born in Morden, Manitoba and was predeceased by her parents, John and Maude Currie, her four siblings, Leonore, Eileen, Don and Dick, and her first born Paul.

Ruth received her nursing degree at the age of 45 and worked for 17 years as an RN at Bethania Nursing Home. Ruth had many interests, she loved gardening and spent hours taking care of her flowers. Family gatherings were always a special time for her whether fun by the pool, BBQ’s or holiday feasts. Ruth was an avid reader, quilter and always up for a game of cribbage, rummy or rummoli. She wrote and published a book about her life growing up, “I Am What I Am”, which we all hold dearly.

She will be sadly missed. We all love you.

A special thank you to the staff of U5 and U4 at Seven Oaks Hospital, your caring and compassion meant everything to our family.
