  • This one stings. Henry and Helmut moved into the West End some time in the Sixties. Helmut was athletic and Henry was the neighbourhood bully! Just kidding Henry! Both excellent guys and fun to hang with growing up. I mentioned to someone that I don't believe I ever saw Helmut angry. A few years back he was in town for a visit and I ran into them on the course at Kildonan. Helmut and I had a too-brief catch up yak before the others started yelling at us. We both played goal in hockey and no conversation we ever had when we were older didn't end without us laughing about the time we met in Junior and we let in 23 goals between us! He won, letting in one goal less. My condolences to the Dahl family. - Posted by: John Jameson (Friend) on: May 06, 2025

  • I always smile when I think of Helmut, he was always telling jokes. Helmut was fun to play golf with, calling his shots, and laughing out loud when he screwed up which wasn’t often. We had a lot of fun together playing hockey, and golf. I’ll miss him! My deepest condolences to Roberta, Jacqueline Chris Owen, and Jacob. Also his father, brothers, and sisters. - Posted by: Udo Kreis (Friend) on: May 03, 2025
