KIMIE MCIVOR

With a heavy heart, I share the news that Kimie McIvor had her final bloom on May 20th, 2025. Kimie was a beautiful, kind soul and an amazing Mom to her daughter Lisa. A caring addition to the schools she worked with, Kimie did it all with an elegant sense of style and humour.

Born in Fukuyama, Japan Kimie came to the US as a late teen, moving to Canada as a young mother. She always worked hard, sharing a lot of herself with those around her, from opening her unique dress shop VAMP in the heart of Osborne Village, to obtaining her PHD in Psychology concentrating on supporting others, especially children.

As per her wishes, Kimie was privately celebrated on the 7th day as per Japanese custom. Cremation has taken place (thank you to the staff at Alterna Cremations) and there will be no service. Thank you to everyone who cared for her at Seven Oaks Hospital (you know who you are...). You'll be missed Kimie, I'll miss you Mom, hope the garden is ever-growing where you are now. Love from the Slupee Runner!

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I met Kimmie in 1972. At 333 Baltimore Road, in Riverview, Winnipeg. Her sense of style was really cool. Lisa was a youngster. Very sweet with red straight hair. When I needed a ride to HSC in the middle of the night, she grabbed a taxi & took me there. The last time that I visited her was when she lived in a rental in Armstrong Point. Kimmie may have been my age or a little older, but I feel that her time on earth was much too short. Sorry, Lisa. Your best friend has gone. - Posted by: Sharon McDonald (Friend) on: Jul 12, 2025
