Our hearts are filled with love and sadness as we announce Gilles’ passing at the age of 53, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 2, 2025. Gilles now journeys in the comfort and peace of God’s love. He was adored by his family and many close friends. Gilles was predeceased by his father, Lucien St-Vincent and his infant brother Joseph as well as his guardian angel Sr. Rita Desrosiers. He will be remembered by his mother Patricia St-Vincent, sisters Louise Cooney (Frank), Jo-Anne St-Vincent (Patrick), Rachel St-Vincent (John) and Laura St-Vincent (Eric). Gilles will also be missed by his nieces and nephews Mathieu, Stéphani, Mylène, Jérémi, Cassia, Caleb and Colin, as well as his Aunts Noella and Hélène and Uncle Danny. Gilles will also be deeply missed by Aissa Osuna, and her mother Maria Elena Barrientos (Mama Mia), two extraordinary caregivers whose family welcomed Gilles as one of their own.
Gilles was very close to his family. Life was always a celebration to him and he lived it with full enthusiasm. He loved camping and travelling and explored many places that he always remembered as his favorite vacations. Gilles was an eternal optimist, comedian and performer. He loved to sing and dance, preferably on a stage! Gilles was very spiritual and close to God and especially enjoyed his special Spanish church of which he immediately became a proud and faithful member. He touched the lives of all those who crossed his path, greeting everyone with a contagious smile and a big hug and kiss.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary love and care shown to Gilles throughout the years by Sr. Irène Rioux and staff at St-Amant Center, L’Arche, New Directions, ImagineAbility Inc and Action Marguerite. A very special thank you to Sister Irene Rioux, for journeying with our family throughout Gilles’ entire life.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Parish Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion, (Eglise Precieux Sang), 200 Kenny Street.
Donations can be made to St-Amant Centre, L’Arche, New Directions or Action Marguarite.

I was fortunate to get to know Gilles in the past through my late wife Monique when she worked with the St. Amant Community Residences. He always brought a joie de vivre to our chance meetings. Gilles always brought a smile to both of us. We renewed our connection again years later when we were visiting family at the same time that Gilles and his mother were visiting family at Centre Taché. It was always a special moment when our travels crossed paths. I feel honoured that I had the opportunity to meet him. - Posted by: Brian Everton (friend) on: Jun 13, 2025

Deepest condolences go out to the entire family and everyone that knew Gilles. Gilles had the gift of lighting up everyone in the room. He always brought people together at gatherings (even the shy ones) with his contagious smile, hugs and kind words. Blessed to have known Gilles - Posted by: Cecile (Cousin) on: Jun 08, 2025
