GORDON JAMES BEATTIE
Gord passed away peacefully after a serious illness. He is survived by his wife, Janet, his mother Irene, his brothers John, Grant and Robert as well as his son David.
Gord's love and care for Janet was visible in everything he did. He strove to make her life as easy as he could, finding any way possible to ensure her comfort.
A lover of motorcycles, Gord preferred a Honda over a Harley and would defend that decision enthusiastically. He cherished his memories of Sturgis and Daytona Beach Bike week. He was the consummate Blue Bomber fan and had a great love for good audio equipment and the vinyl records that went with them.
Gord was a salesman, and a good one. His career spanned over 25 years with many years spent in Corporate Sales at The Brick. His loyalty to his customers and attention to detail were paramount.
For Gord, a house was not a home without cats. Over the years he had several, all of them being rescued from less than ideal circumstances. They soon understood that Gord had a very soft heart where cats were concerned and returned the affection.
A Celebration of Gord's Life will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 10:30 am on the Main Floor of Lion's Manor, 320 Sherbrook Street.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the CancerCare foundation in Gord's memory.

Gord was a vey good friend and neighbor. I also worked at the Brick the same time he did. Our love of cats brought us together many times providing homes for them, mainly strays. I will miss Gord and our chats when I would walk by his place and stop. His main concern was looking after his wife Janet until his illness. RIP Gord. - Posted by: Bonnie Magne (Friend, neighbor) on: Jun 17, 2025
