ANNE LACOMY

August 29, 1924 - February 13, 2025

Anne Lacomy (neé Annie Woloshyn) peacefully passed away at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, proudly aged 100 years.

She was a lifetime resident of our city and lived most of her years on Lindhurst Avenue. While much of her family migrated to other provinces, she remained loyal to her home here in Winnipeg.

Anne joyfully married Steve Lacomy in 1952. They enjoyed traveling to Hawai'i for sunshine and of course to Ontario and British Columbia to visit family and many other loved ones.

Anne was a long time member of the Arlington Sports Club and Legion 141. Her small stature never deterred her from life challenges. Anne was a lively conversationalist and never hesitated to share simple and beautiful wisdom to anyone enjoying company with her. Anyone who knew her might say she had a quick wit yet also a generous heart.

Anne maintained a good health for the near entirety of her life until she experienced what can only be called a passing of age. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Steve.

The family wishes to extend the warmest of thanks to all of the neighbours for their kind help over the years. Especially deserving of thanks is Wendy, who went above and beyond with her gracious support. Kelly, Deborah and Elaine also deserve special mention for their tireless care, including working with the family in BC to ensure Anne's comfort.

Anne will be remembered by all. The family intends to have a private service. We have no particular requests for flowers or donations. If interested, Anne would appreciate a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society for animals.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We are very sorry to hear of your loss and send warmth and strength to the family. Anne was very kind to our animals in many ways over the years and we are so honoured to be named in this passage. - Posted by: Sharon Rubel/Winnipeg Humane Society (Grateful Charity) on: Jun 30, 2025

  • My deepest condolences. I will always miss Aunty Anne. Miss them both so much and have so many fond memories of both of them. When the lodge burnt down this year (Arlington Sports Club) I remembered the Thanksgiving weekends we all had out there that were so much fun! I just have so many great memories of time with both of them. One of the more recent memories (within the last 15 years) with Aunty Anne was when Murray was driving and my parents and Aunty Anne and the both of us were all going for lunch. Murray does not know Wpg and was waiting for directions and everyone was telling him a different way to go. He happened to be at a traffic circle and just kept going around and around (just like what Uncle Steve would do). Aunty Anne was the first person to notice that we were going in circles and made sure Murray knew which way to go. We still have good laughs about this. Will see both of you again one day! - Posted by: Debbie Hawrysh (Parents very close friends (Roy and Anne HAWRYSH)) on: Jun 28, 2025
