Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We had the pleasure of knowing Jim for a number of years at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre (HSC) while also working at HSC in the 1980’s. Such a thoughtful, intelligent, caring man, with a great sense of humour and a great smile. We went to Jim for pre-marriage counselling which was most beneficial. We had asked him to officiate at our wedding, but unfortunately he was already committed to speaking at a conference. Our thoughts and sincere condolences to Beatrix & all his family. - Posted by: Richard & Karen Howell (Former HSC Colleagues) on: Jun 30, 2025

  • I was in river house in 969 a residential house for recovering female alcoholics and Jim came in to see us every week and I surely gave him a run for his money. we verbally fought over God and addiction but he stuck with me heard me out and called me friend. If he had not done that I might have left the program. Because Jim was such a great human being I heard him. I am now 55 years sober thanks to Jim's patience and understanding and above all his huge heart. I am sorry for your loss - Posted by: Fran Newton (old Friend) on: Jun 28, 2025

  • I knew Jim as my church Pastor while he was at Augustine United Church. A special experience involving Jim, my wife and myself, took place at Victoria Beach many years ago. My and and me were venturing into the lake when my wife stepped upon a sharp rock, which cut her foot. She required stitches but we were stuck on a sandy beach. Jim, who happened to see us in our need, directed us to a MD, situated within the immediate region of Victoria Beach. Both, Jim and I carried my wife to the Doctor for her urgent need. Jim will be missed. - Posted by: Randy Fisher (Friend) on: Jun 28, 2025
