It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Eleanore on July 6, 2025, at Grace Hospital at the age of 87 years.
Left to mourn are her beloved children; daughter Lisa, son Paul (Marie-Josée); grandchildren John (Renata); Jason (Sara) and Amy; great-grandsons Carson, Noah and great-granddaughter Chloe.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Gilles, her parents Camilla Crombez and Adolph Van de Vyvre, her two sisters Ramona Beceleare (Marcel), Geri O’Neal (Don) and her best friend Adele Clarke. She has left many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews that are too many to count from the Schaubroeck and Crombez families. Special neighbors left to mourn are Jo and Keith Bent and family.
Our Mom lived an amazing life, a dedicated housewife devoted to her husband and family. When her children left home, she worked at Eaton’s and found her passion. She took pride in her work and loved helping people. She loved being outside gardening and tending to the many plants and flowers. Mom was an avid reader of the Winnipeg Free Press and completed all the daily puzzles religiously! She loved her evenings watching tv, (even Netflix) and having her favourite snacks. Mom loved her sweets and made the most delicious rice krispie cake that was irresistible.
When Dad fell ill, Mom poured out her heart and soul to him with her passion for his recovery. She was generous, humble and sacrificed herself for him every day. She would keep her house immaculate under any circumstance or hardship. Her home was her pride and joy.
Mom, we will miss your presence, a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear and your heart of gold. You were a woman of great faith, who taught us unconditional love, forgiveness, hope, happiness and peace. You were an angel in our eyes and you taught us by your finest example.
Rest in peace, Mom.
All your fatigue is gone.
Never cry another tear.
Just keep moving on.
The family wishes to thank all the W.R.H.A. home care workers, nurses and her case coordinator who cared for Eleanore over the years, and the staff at Grace Hospital 4th floor for their compassionate and considerate care. We would also like to thank Dr. Kevin Coates for his many years of care.
Donations in memory of Eleanore may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 1:00 p.m. at E.J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Directors, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg. 204-253-5086.
Friends and family are welcome.
