JENNIFER DIANE DONOHOE

May 5, 1969 - September 2, 2025

On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Jennifer lost her hard-fought battle with cancer.

Waiting for Jennifer above were her dad Desmond, brothers, Desmond and David, all of her grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mom and Grandma were Jen’s favourite names and her proudest role.

Jen leaves to cherish her memories, her son Braden, wife Danneaka, grandsons, Oakley and Everett and Braden’s dad Ryan, who has been a steadfast friend to Jennifer in all of their years together. Also feeling this huge loss is her mom Diane, who was with her until the end, Michelle (Mike), Jeff (Andrea), Lori (Richard) and Domonique, nine nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews. In addition are her cousins who were like sisters and brother growing up: Shane, Jamie and Michael. Last but not least, friends who went above and beyond, Colleen and Mike, Hilda and Albert who always provided Jen with constant faith, her Minerva Road family and Kris.

Jen had been raised on the family farm in Petersfield, with many memories made here and at the family cabin in Manigotagan with family and friends.

Jen was employed at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre and while there, had made many true and endearing friendships that have helped in guiding Jennifer.

To know Jennifer, was to know a feisty and free-spirited soul who stood for what she believed in. Jen would champion the underdog and defend who she thought was wronged.

Jen was very loving and giving, while also having a way about her that you would walk away laughing and thinking “that’s Jen”. Everything about Jen will be truly missed.

After being diagnosed, Jen had been able to travel to BC to meet her first grandson and also was able to make many more trips back to her family in BC. With much regret, Jennifer had not been able to travel to hold Everett, who was born June 30, 2025, however she was able to meet him through Facetime. This is truly the reason she fought as hard as she did, they were her purpose.

Thank you to her CancerCare team, the staff at Home Care and the Selkirk Regional Health Centre who all went the extra mile for Jennifer, all of her extended friends and family for everything that everyone had helped with and had made such an impact.

Flowers gratefully declined, donations in lieu of can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jennifer at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, Manitoba on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Lindsay Drabiuk officiating.
