Adrian Charles Kolton passed away, surrounded by his family, in St. Boniface Hospital on September 6, 2025, just before his 80th birthday.
Born November 16, 1945, Adrian is predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Nick, and survived by his wife, Donna; his sister, Connie (Rod Huff, children Kristin and Kurt); his children, David (Danielle), Brent (Jennifer), and Neil; and his grandchildren (Mackenzie, Tate, Nathalie, Adrianna, Benjamin, Ronan, and Nick).
Married for 57 years, he and Donna built their family home on Captain Kennedy Road in St. Andrews, Manitoba, where they raised their three sons with the love and support of their friends and neighbours. Adrian was an active member of the community, coaching, umpiring baseball, and enjoying the idyllic St. Andrews “village.” He became an avid reader and was a sports enthusiast.
In his formative years, Adrian was raised on a vegetable farm and worked in the family market garden along with his sister, Connie. In St. Andrews, he enjoyed having a big garden, a hobby he passed on to his sons.
Adrian worked for 30 years with the Manitoba Telephone System, retiring in 1997. For many of his first years, he worked in Northern Manitoba, where he supervised the building of several towers. As a civil technologist working in the engineering department, he was instrumental in setting up the then-new cellular towers throughout the province. At MTS, he made many lifelong friends.
He will be remembered and missed by his loving family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at E.J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Home on September 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please provide a donation to a charity of your choice.
