Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN ALEXANDER REID
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Alexander Reid on October 12, 2025, just days before his 77th birthday.
Stephen was born on October 15, 1948, to Alec and Phyllis (Larkin) Reid.
He is lovingly remembered by his son Miles, daughter-in-law Tanya, grandchildren, Gabriella and Niall, and great-grandson Remington; his daughter Erin Reid; and his sisters, Jessica (Murray) Grafton, Pamela (Robert) Campbell, Cecelia Reid (Don), and Janine (Jacques) Marion, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Missing him the most is his cherished companion and best friend Marco.
Stephen was predeceased by his beloved partner and wife, Danelle Joy (Fleming), and his sister Sandi Reid.
A graduate of St. Paul’s High School and the University of Manitoba, Stephen explored several career paths before discovering his vocation as a Real Estate Appraiser. After retiring from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), he remained active in the valuation profession and later transitioned into property management.
Stephen found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson, and he deeply valued the company of family and friends. Known for his kindness, humour, and generosity, he touched many lives. An enthusiastic traveller, he avidly explored the world, creating treasured memories during European adventures, family vacations in Waikiki, and tropical getaways and city adventures with Danelle. Summers were spent at the family cottage in Grindstone, where he found peace by the lake. In later years, Stephen found his winter haven at Newport Glen in Fort Myers, Florida, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed long walks down Island Park Road with Marco.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Norwood Hotel, 112 Marion Street, Winnipeg. All who knew and loved Stephen are welcome to attend and share in remembering his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stephen’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Condolences to the Reid family for the passing of Steve; we were chums back in the day in the Champlain neighbourhood and a nicer chap you could never be associated with. He may have graduated from high school at St. Paul's but he was a Holy Cross boy through and through back in our day. Sounds like he made his mark! - Posted by: Donald Tomac (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2025

I worked with Steve for over a decade at CMHC. He was a friend and mentor. As team leaders, we both sat on the office management committee & shared many good times. My condolences to the Reid family. - Posted by: Richard Goatcher (Former colleague) on: Oct 18, 2025
