Our beloved Father and Dziadzia, Steve Rowinski, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Steve is predeceased by his cherished wife Lucy; parents, Antoni and Stanislawa; brothers, Mike and Walter and sisters, Donna and Hedy.
Steve leaves to mourn his daughters, Kathy (Richard) and Barb (Robb) and grandchildren, Daniel (Cass), Josh (Janel), Julia, Luke, Ryan and Alex.
Steve was born in Ledno, Poland on August 20, 1933. At the young age of 16, Steve bravely immigrated to Canada with his family. Being displaced from his home during the war was a very difficult experience. Although starting a new life in Canada was challenging, it provided new opportunities and hopes of a better future. In 1959, dad met the love of his life, Lucy. They married in 1961 and began a busy and beautiful life together raising two wonderful daughters, Kathy and Barb. Steve and Lucy were married for 59 years before her passing in 2020. Steve worked more than 25 years at Canada Packers then worked at Boeing as a technician for a decade until his retirement in 1998. Steve was also a dedicated member of Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church where he served as a lector.
While Steve was a man of few words, his comedic timing and sense of humor were impeccable. His lighthearted nature and joyful outlook always brought a smile to those around him. Steve’s kind spirit will always be remembered.
Steve’s family would like to sincerely thank the compassionate staff at Prime Medical Services, especially Amy, Nati and April, for providing homecare for Steve so that he could live out his wishes to remain in his home.
Mass of Christian burial to be held at Holy Ghost Parish on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Rosary will be recited prior to the Mass. A live stream of the Mass will be available through www.holyghost.ca .
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Steve to Cancer Care Manitoba or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
