It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen May Koslowsky (nee Honer). Eileen passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 20, 2025, at Poseidon Personal Care Home.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband Karl, sons Robert (Yvonne) and Mark, daughters Karen (Darryl) and Kathleen, brother Reg (Joan) and sisters-in-law Esther and Ruth (Orest). Eileen will also be mourned by her nieces and nephews as well as her grandchildren Melissa (Cole), Lindsay, and Ashley (Matthew) and great-grandchildren Athena, William, Zadie, Amelia and Henry. She was pre-deceased by her parents Peter and Eva Honer and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eileen was born on June 6, 1932, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was baptized, confirmed and later united in Holy Matrimony to Karl at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Winnipeg on August 2, 1958.
Prior to her marriage, Eileen held various positions in the 1940s working her way through school. One of her first jobs was at City Meats working the counter. Eileen earned the nickname “Bubbles” for her cheerful demeanor and assistance with the customers. After high school graduation (1950) Eileen worked in the federal government until her marriage in 1958.
Eileen raised four children as a stay-at-home mom during the 1960s in Missouri, Moose Jaw and Winnipeg.
In 1973, Eileen began work at the Health Sciences Center in a career spanning 20 years, retiring in 1993.
Eileen was a great listener and a champion of the underdog, an advocate for many outside of the home. Eileen was both generous in spirit and with numerous charities.
In her spare time, Eileen participated in many sports. In her younger years, Eileen played baseball, hockey and curling and was a serious bocce ball competitor at family barbecues. Upon retiring, Eileen became an avid golfer, in addition to working in the yard, a pastime she treasured. Eileen was a loyal Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and many friendly arguments ensued within the family whenever they played the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Eileen was also a wonderful cook. Her large turkey dinners as well as her roast beef and rib meals were both anticipated and scrumptious. She was a great mom!
A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint James Lutheran Church (871 Cavalier Drive) on December 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
Goodbye mom. You were loved by all and will always be. You are a gem!

We went on a family vacation to Hawaii. I had arranged an excursion for the men and grandchildren; Melissa, Lindsay and Ashley. Eileen and I went to the ‘Pink Palace’ Hotel for a drink overlooking the ocean. She was tickled pink and we both loved it!! We had a wonderful time that I will always treasure. - Posted by: Yvonne Koslowsky (Daughter-in-law) on: Nov 22, 2025
