Ronald Henry Rioux was born June 9, 1944 to Leo and Elsie Rioux in Dauphin, MB. Even after the family moved to Montreal they would return to visit family in MB every summer. After graduation Ron began teaching at Tetraville in 1967. It was there he would meet and fall in love with his wife, Linda. They married October 9, 1971 and eventually relocated from Montreal to Rapid City, MB circa 1976. Dad had fond memories of the summers at family farms in Dauphin that led to the purchase of their land in 1979.
Ron and Linda would welcome their daughter, Christy, in 1980 and raise her on that same land with their herd of Arabians overlooking the valley. He had a lifelong passion for learning and debate about many subjects which he utilized in the co-creation, administration and teaching of the early days of Potters Wheel Christian school. His deep love of family and faith was the root of his daily life.
Ron passed at home January 8, 2026. He is predeceased by his parents, Len and Elsie; and his older sister, Carol Rioux. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Christy (Kevin) Klassen; grandchildren, Josh and Naomi, as well as his sister Jean (Bob) Hammond, niece, Irene (Luc) Descary and nephew, Chris Hammond and their children.
A private service to take place at a later date.
