CRAIG STEPHEN VINCENT WALLIS

April 22, 1947 - December 21, 2025

Craig Wallis, of Winnipeg, passed away on December 21 at Concordia Hospital.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Trudy Wallis (née Schaefer); their children, Kim and Chris, and his cousin Frank Douglas. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Stella Wallis.

Craig spent over 40 years working as a labour relations consultant with the Manitoba Association of School Trustees (MAST), where he was respected for his knowledge, professionalism, and thoughtful approach. Above all, he treasured time with his family. Some of his happiest moments were spent at the family cottage on Bird River, fishing, playing games, and enjoying the simple pleasure of being together. He was a devoted animal lover, especially fond of dogs, and found joy in watching animal videos that never failed to make him smile.

Craig will be remembered as a caring and dedicated husband and father, known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others, as well as a sense of humour that stayed with him throughout his life.

The family would like to thank everyone who provided him care at GPAT, Seven Oaks Day Hospital, Concordia Hospital and Home Care Services.

In keeping with Craig's wishes, no service will be held. Donations can be made in his honor to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My friend, we go back a long way; from Isaac Newton to Sisler High and beyond. We lived in the same area of the North End and spent many hours together shooting pool, camping, hunting and fishing. The north end Salisbury house was a favourite place for coffee after a full day. Eventually we went our separate ways, after marriage, but like a brother, I always felt close no matter how long since last talking to you. We will meet again. Trudy, Chris and Kim, Craig was gift given to us for a short time, but memories will linger forever. We all were blessed to have shared various periods of our lives with him. We can all look forward to seeing him again. - Posted by: Robert Wareing (Life long friend) on: Jan 26, 2026
