Hard to believe that this vital man is no longer with us. Mesothelioma, caused by exposure to asbestos, proved to be swift and unstoppable.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Hnatiuk; his sisters, Wendi Redwin, and Tina Love (Phil Wood); his nephews, Thorin Redwin, Andrew Love, and Jason Love; as well as his cousins in New Zealand and Australia, the numerous offspring of his maternal aunt Gladys Sharp, née Feder. He is predeceased by his first wife, Carole Miles; and his parents, John Redwin, and Debra Redwin (née Feder); and his brother, Christopher Redwin.
Born in London, England, Roger immigrated to Canada in 1970 and settled in Toronto where he met his first wife, Carole. Carole’s work as a physiotherapist brought them to Manitoba and they ended up in Landmark where Roger set up his workshop as The Jolly Woodman.
Roger’s main passions in life were sailing and folk dancing. Roger and Rosemary met through folk dancing at the Manitoba International Folk Dance Association (MIFDA). They had many interests in common, as well as many of the same personality traits and foibles. As Roger was inclined to say: “We are a right pair.”
