BEVERLEY LITKOWICH

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Beverley Veronica Litkowich peacefully passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home in Brandon. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter, and all of her siblings: Agnes, Katherine, Frances, Anne, Cecile, Winnifred, Violet and Vincent.

Beverley’s life began on the family farm in Cloverleaf, Manitoba. During her childhood, the joys of learning, of music, of faith, family and home took root. At the age of 16, she left home to pursue her desire to teach school which was in a one-room school house near Tyndall, Manitoba. The Litkowich family offered her boarding on their family farm where she met the love of her life, Peter. Shortly after he proposed, and at 18, Bev was married on August 12, 1950. By December 18, 1951 she became a mother, with 2 more daughters to follow until 1956 when Peter and Bev decided to move their young family to Brandon. Before long, Peter built a house at 1050 Russell St. where Bev devoted herself to being a wonderful, loving wife and mother. Her home became a place of endearment, joy and service to so many for over 50 years – all brothers, sisters, so many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends, and anyone who came to their door. Bev gathered so many around her dining room table for delicious, homemade meals as well as for “tea times and coffee” to offer a listening ear and enjoy a visit.

As faith was integral to her, she immersed herself into the communities of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, St Hedwigs’s Polish Catholic Church, St Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Academy with the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions as well as CWL and the UCWL. Bev involved herself wherever she could be of service and grow in here faith especially by singing in the choir and teaching catechism.

An important part of her life was corresponding with her family and friends. She always had a supply of cards available to send out for all occasions to keep in touch with all those who were dear to her.

When her life slowed down, she moved into Rotary Villa until illness took her to stay at Rideau Park Personal Care Home, where she was for about 4 years.

Beverley will be lovingly remembered by her children: Sharon (Ernie) Reimer, Marlene (Garry) Germscheid and Debra Litkowich; her grandchildren: Bart (Michelle), Tim, Karen (Dwight), Niccole (Ben), Laurna (Lee) and Christy (Tony); her great grandchildren: Bryn, Payton, Alexander, Sara, Benjamin, Liam, Bo, Isabel and Abigail; her sister-in-law Rose (Herb) and brother-in-law Bernie (Sherron) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff at Rideau Park for their care and kindness for Beverley. A special thank-you as well is extended to the priests, staff, and parish community at St. Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church for their generous, dedicated and loving spiritual support. A time of visitation will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. followed by prayers at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, 327 4th Street, Brandon, on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

For those unable to attend the family invites you to watch the livestream of the Mass of Christian burial by visiting Beverley’s tribute page at www.brockiedonovan.com
