SHIRLEY ARLENE DIAKIW

(LAMBERT)

It is with profound sadness that the family of Shirley announce her peaceful passing on March 8, 2026, at the age of 90, after a short illness.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents Len and Thelma Lambert, husband Harry Diakiw and her sisters Evelyn and Darlene.

Left to mourn and cherish her memory are son David (Joanne); daughter Andrea and her granddaughter Madyson. She also leaves behind her sister Donna, brothers Lyle (Betty), Ralph (Sharon) and Harvey (Margaret), brother-in-law Peter (Penny) and numerous other family and friends.

Shirley was born on November 25, 1935, in Swan River, Manitoba and spent her childhood in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Shirley moved to Winnipeg to work and met Harry through mutual friends. They married November 3, 1962, and started their family shortly after.

Shirley enjoyed travelling many places with Harry but mostly loved the time spent with family and friends at the cottage in Lester Beach, Manitoba.

Shirley was known by many to be a 'fashionista' - she was always dressing up in the latest fashions and concerned with her hair and makeup. The girls had so much fun going through her closets and reminiscing about her love of all things shiny and pretty!

Shirley's presence (and her cheating at card games) will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.

As per her wishes, Shirley has been cremated and the family will be holding a private service at a later date.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Sue Kuzina, the Staff at Grace Hospital ER, Sterling Lyon Assisted Living and to the WRHA Homecare Team.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Shirley's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Rest in Peace Mom, Mamma-law, Grandma, Sister and Friend -

Until We Meet Again
