Dorothy Mae Thornton (Edwards) born December 9, 1924 to Alfred and Alice Edwards on their farm in Elton Municipality. Dorothy was the second oldest of the five children, George, Dorothy, Jack, Muriel (Guild) and Ernest. She attended Powerville and Forrest schools. Dorothy met Jack Thornton and they were married in 1944. They farmed across the highway from the Brandon Airport and had two daughters, Diane (Eisler) and Shirley (Boist).
Dorothy was active in Forrest 4H, the church, curling and following the senior men's baseball and many outdoor activities including a Master Angler Award.
She passed away peacefully on Hillcrest Place in Brandon on April 4, 2026.
A private service may be held at a later date.
