WALTER JOHN BUDY
Walter passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, with family by his side.
Today heaven is an even better place because of this extraordinary husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was a gentleman who will be remembered for his beautiful qualities, his caring thoughtfulness, his deep faith (a man of prayer) and his great dedication to his family, his friends and his Church.
He was a patient, methodical person who was able to balance that with his fun-loving nature and unique sense of humor. He had endless energy, which was channeled to his volunteer ventures (which were numerous) and to helping friends and family.
Walter was a man who inspired and served many people and many causes and modeled what it means to love.
He retired in 1995, allowing him to pursue golf, travel and relaxation at the Lake. After retirement he re-invented himself and took on different seasonal jobs which he thoroughly enjoyed. He always looked forward to winters away in White Rock, B.C. There he could pursue his daily walks by the ocean and re-new established cherished friendships with people he met over the years. His foremost enjoyment of winter on the coast was being a hands on Grampsie.
He leaves not to mourn but to love and remember his sons, grandchildren, daughters-in-law and many nieces and nephews of which he was their favorite. His beloved wife predeceased him in September of 2024.
With the passing of this decent man a large and wonderful chapter of our life's book comes gently to a close.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in Selkirk, Manitoba.
