JOAN EDBOM
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of my mother, Frederica Joan Edbom (nee Self) (known as Joan). She passed peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the age of 103.
Joan was predeceased by eldest daughter Beverly in June of 2009; her husband Swen, the love of her life, in February of 2014; and her son-in-law Alvin in early 2026.
Joan is survived by her daughter Sandie Denhard, grandson Ryan, great-grandchildren Mickenzie, Cordyn, Kyra, and Keltyn. Granddaughter Cindy Kennedy (Stephen), great-grandchildren Breanna and Jaxin. Grandson Bob Knight (Lisa), great-grandson Shane. Granddaughter Dianne Wiebe (Jaime), great-granddaughter Kelsey Brown (Jeremy), and great-great-granddaughters Ivy, Nora, and Wren. As well as her last sibling Eileen who is still lives in England.
The funeral service will be held on May 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with luncheon to follow on site at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home at 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 5Y4. Interment will be at the Menisino Cemetery where she will take her place beside husband Swen and daughter Beverly.
Funeral arrangements are through Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Joan asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choosing.
