It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Walter Ulicki on May 25, 2026, at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 75.
Joe was born in Winnipeg on April 22, 1951, to Dmytro and Paraskevia Ulicki. He was proud of his family, his faith, and the Christian values that guided him throughout his life.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro and Paraskevia, his brothers, John and Andrew, his sister, Mary Haight and her husband Trevor, and other cherished members of the Ulicki family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Kurt (Alisha), his grandsons, Logan and Finn, his brothers, Nestor (Katherine), Lawrence (Stephanie), and Phillip (Kathie), his sister, Anne, his sister-in-law, Cheryl, and his many nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Joe worked for Canadian Pacific Railway for 30 years until his retirement in 2006. A hardworking and dependable man, he took pride in providing for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities. Above all, he was a devoted father whose greatest joy was supporting his son through every stage of life.
A man of deep faith, Joe enjoyed photography and lived quietly, with humility, perseverance, and a deep commitment to his family.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Joe's siblings and extended family for their love and support, especially his sister Anne, whose compassion and countless visits during his time at Holy Family Home brought him comfort and companionship. The family also extends sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses, and staff who were part of Joe's care journey.
Funeral service will be held at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Thank you Joe for your thoughtful words at Mom’s service. Although you may have been a daunting senior in my childhood you proved to be anything but that in what I will remember you for. Compassionate, devotional and a good ole Ulicki. - Posted by: david malloy (Neighbour) on: Jun 14, 2026
