It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and Nonno at Riverview in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 5, 2026, at the age of 94.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Dominic (Vivian), Mario, Anna Maria (Tony), Robert (Trish); grandchildren: Brianne (Patrick), Nicole, Gregory (Hailey), Gabriel, Spencer, Dante, Liam; and great-grandchildren: Ava and Tyson. Also his sister, Maria (Montreal), along with many nieces and nephews.
Dad was born November 11, 1931, in Amato Calabria, Italy. He came to Canada and settled in Winnipeg in the mid 1950s.
Dad was predeceased by his wife Immacolata (Imma); son Paul; and his brothers: Tony (Toto), Ralph, Giovanni and Guido.
Gregorio was a devoted husband for 63 years and instilled the Italian values in all his children and grandchildren, and the love of great food made by Mom (Imma).
Dad, a carpenter by trade, was a very hard worker and provided for his family by furniture piece work, and was always among the top producers at the factory GIII Ltd.
Dad enjoyed a simple life gardening in the early morning, listening to CJOB radio daily, and watching TV - RAI from Italy. Dad also never missed his Italian soccer games.
He was very proud of his family and was happiest when he was surrounded by his kids and grandkids.
Thank you to all the staff at Riverview Unit A1 for their care and compassion of Dad over the last 11 months.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the E.J. Coutu Funeral Home.
