In the early hours of June 20, 2026, my beloved partner and mother of our children passed away gently, at the Grace Hospital, with myself and our daughter Signe, by her side, holding her hands. Her son Erik and partner Ann, Signe’s partner Dave, and her grandchildren, Keely, Finn, Liam and Eliese, were each able, by phone, to express their love and say goodbye.
Marilyn was predeceased by her father (James), birth mother (Jean), chosen mother (Hazel), brother (Robert), infant son (Stephen) and special great-aunt (Didi).
She leaves, to remember all the good times, myself, her partner in life and love (Carl); her son Erik, partner Ann Sullivan and their children, Keely and Finn; her daughter Signe, partner David Berger and their children, Liam and Eliese; sister Jane (Robert) and family; and special friend since age four, Janet; sister-in-law Lisa (Robert deceased); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
As per Marilyn’s wishes, we will not have a formal memorial. We will have a gathering of our family at our island cottage in August where her ashes will be placed.
We express our gratitude to Dr. Stewart Silagy for his years of care and to the medics, doctors, nurses and support staff at Grace Hospital. Criticized too often – Praised not enough! In memory of Marilyn, please consider a donation to the Grace Hospital Foundation.
